It seems to me that the word festival has changed it’s meaning over the last 5 years or so. A “Festival” used to only describe large multi entertainment events, it now encompasses any event which pops into existence for a short number of days, and is then taken down
A beer festival can simply mean that the pub has brought in a more varied beer selection. A food festival can mean that there are some pop-up vendors in the car park
So, taking into account these newer definitions , we have videod 61 festivals over the last 9 years. Around half of those are the larger, more traditional type
The videos are used in 2 main ways:
A release within 2 weeks is used to remind people what happened, and extends the “Rosy Glow” of the event.
One released around 6 weeks before the next event is used as the prime marketing tool to drive high attendance
