Tha I Ban
Flutatious wanted a video to promote their new album, so Tha I Ban - a promotional video was specially shot for that purpose
Tha I Ban is Scottish Gaelic - depending on who you talk to, it variously means "She is fair", "She is a beautiful woman" or "She is a woman"
Anyway, regardless of the actual meaning, when I spoke to the songs creator Flutatious' bass player - Bill Forwell -, he told me it was about a beautiful woman, full of intensity and sensitivity. So that's what this song is about
Recorded in a local village hall in 3 takes, the whole shoot took 4 hours.
We did overshoot other shots near a beautiful canal, but when we got that footage back, it didn't fit with the performance shots - so it was dropped
There's never any problem with dropping shots - it's always best to overshoot!
Some of the shots were done on a Panasonic GH5s with a Noctilux F.9 lens to give a minimal depth of field giving impacts to the close up shots
The main performance shots were shot on Panasonic 4k studio cameras
It was used as a major video promotion tool, and Tha I Ban already had over 10,000 views on social media
