March of the Mods is a series of charity events that happen across the UK that benefit the Teenage Cancer Trust
The format is that Mod DJ’s and bands play music from the Mod genre(Jazz,Rythym and Blues, Ska, Soul and Beat etc).
Many of the audience dress as they would have done when going to music gigs back in the day. Dressing like a mod means wearing stylish and tailored clothing in bold prints, bright colors, and black and white. Men wore tailored suits, polos, and slim-fitting pants, while women wore mini-skirts, twin-sets, fitted pants, and shift dresses.
And of, course, the best way to get to a mod gig was by doing a “Ride out” on a Lambretta or Vespa scooter.
March of the Mods Reading in 2023 was packed to capacity, and everyone really enjoyed the evening.
